Variety of Conditions

The wood on this deck was in decent condition but it had past stain flaking off it and it was looking tired and grey. We came in with an 80 grit floor sander to get rid of the easy to get stain on the surface and expose the fresh wood grain. Orbital sanders with 60 grit were used to get into the cracks to remove the rest. After a double coating of CUTEK extreme wood protectant with the Espresso colourtone mixed in this deck looked brand new and felt smooth to the clients satisfaction.

This railing section was fully greyed out from 9 years of sitting in harsh sunlight. In order to expose the fresh wood underneath we had to put down the floor sander and use things like hand sandpaper, detail sanders and orbital sanders to get every nook and cranny. This kind of detail work is tedious and time consuming but it makes all the difference.

Michael and Marion's/Side Door Bar came to us wanting a refreshment on their exterior space. Their 3 decks, small fence, and 2 flowerpots that were previously unstained were in decent condition but beginning to age. We came in with a powerwash to get rid of surface grime and mold and swiftly followed with 2 coats of our signature CUTEK extreme mixed in with the Graphite Grey colourtone. We could not be more happy with the results.

This dock is made from a very special Brazillian hardwoood species called "Ipe". Hardwoods are praised for their resilience to the elements and just about anything that tries to damage it. This resilience also makes it difficult to stain because it absorbs at different and sometimes very slow rates. You can see that with the beautiful tiger striped pattern the stain created. The ipe was already stained with CUTEK but it was well faded so we just gave it a powerwash and a double coat of CUTEK extreme with the autumntone mixed in.

This was by far our hardest and most technical job. There was mold and grime all over the underside of this massive boathouse deck. To tackle this we used deck stripper, revive, power washing, 40 grit sandpaper and a smooth sandpaper finisher on touchable areas to prepare for the staining process. We then followed up with 2 coats of the CUTEK extreme with no colourtone mixed in to give it protection while maintaining the natural colour of the wood with a slight added pop. While this job required alot of hard work and alot of time spent on ladders and scaffolding the results were extremely rewarding.

*Please note the lack of colourtone mixed in will reduce the UV protection factor and increase the frequency of maintenance coats*

This dock was already stained with the CUTEK extreme but it was very faded. We started with a powerwash to clean the surface of the wood and swiftly followed up with a double coat of our CUTEK extreme with the beauitful Walnut tone mixed in.

If you have wood features on or near your deck that could use a stain, we are more than happy to stain them as well, which can give you an opportunity to create a nice contrasted look like the black table/espresso deck in the featured photo.
